Crisis. We’ve been facing it for quite a long time. Everyone knows about it. The future seems bleak, and sometimes hope fades. They say the solution is emigration.

But if we all leave, what will become of Portugal? We are, in fact, “hanging by a thread.”  That is why I believe that, more than ever, this is the time for seizing every single opportunity, to show what we’re worth, to sweat our brow… I believe, more than ever, that now’s the time to look within, finding value in what we are, in what we own. This necklace as a specific function: it pretends to be a portable mirror; to reflect our form, our identity; an hallmark of what we genuinely are. Let us not forget who we are and where we come from, without falling into romantic nationalisms or self-depreciation.
