A flower for Mao | 2015
A flower for Mao is a jewelry piece for Former Chinese President Mao Zedong.
The flower is hidden in his Red Book, camouflaged; just like the Hundred flowers Movement. This movement refers to the historic period when, in 1956, the Chinese Communist party allowed for freedom of expression: “May flowers of all kinds blossom, may different schools of thought face each other!”
In fact, this movement was a strategy by the Chinese Communist Party to identify anti-revolutionary elements and purge them before it could undermine the construction of communism.
